Vahdam Imperial Himalayan White Tea Review

Today I made myself a cup of Vahdam’s Imperial Himalayan White Tea. I'm excited to share my thoughts on this one as I rarely purchase new white teas and I've been enjoying selections from Vahdam Tea so far. This white tea came as a part of Vahdam’s World Tea Sampler which comes with 20 different tea samples of roughly 5 cups worth each. My goal is to review each of the teas in the sampler.

I brewed an overflowing teaspoon of tea leaves for 4 minutes at about 80°C (the recommendation was 90-100 but I was wary of such a high temp for delicate white tea).

After steeping, the loose leaves had unfolded and become tender. Their color was greenish gold.

The prepared tea was even paler in color than I expected from a white tea, and very clear. I do wonder if I should have used a higher ratio of tea leaves to water or a higher brewing temp to get the fullest flavor.

Right away I noticed how aromatic the tea was. It smelled almost sweet, a lilting aroma that gave me that much more excitement to drink it in.

The flavor of this tea was lovely and gentle... The most soothing tea I'd tried in a while. It was so smooth and mild, while also carrying that intoxicating aromatic quality that makes tea unique. I was surprised that even with its soothing characteristics I still detected a crispness to the flavor, an indication of its freshness. Really beautiful.

I definitely enjoyed this tea, so much so that it was over far too quickly. Luckily white tea tends to be very low in caffeine, so this is a tea I can indulge in in the evening hours, maybe even just before bed, since I personally am not much affected by caffeine.

Overall, I recommend Vahdam’s Imperial Himalayan White Tea for anyone who enjoys a soothing, aromatic cup.

One of my favorite things about tea is that there aren't really any hard and fast rules. Everyone brews tea differently, and everyone looks for different qualities in their perfect cup. There is always room for experimentation, and no tea lover is the same. I believe there's a cup of tea for everyone!
